What we do

The Grant Office is the Ministry of Culture’s key point of reference for engaging with EU direct funding programmes—including Creative Europe, Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, CERV, and programmes under European Territorial Cooperation (ETC). Our support goes far beyond submitting proposals: we help build strategic access pathways to EU funds and promote alignment between national cultural policies and European priorities.

Our activities are structured around three main pillars:

1. Capacity Building

Professional growth is the foundation of successful project development. That’s why we offer:

  • Specialized training courses and continuous learning programmes in EU project design and management;

  • Workshops and hands-on labs to build specific technical skills;

  • Operational support for drafting proposals and analyzing the most relevant calls.

We aim to empower MiC institutions with the knowledge and tools to confidently engage in EU projects, creating a widespread and solid internal capacity.

2. Communication

Timely and accessible information is key to seizing funding opportunities. Our communication activities include:

  • A regular newsletter featuring open calls, updates, and success stories;

  • Clear and concise materials like infographics, factsheets, and practical guides;

  • The management of the Grant Office web section on the Ministry’s institutional portal;

  • Participation in events, fairs, and conferences to boost visibility and share experiences.

3. Networking

Strong partnerships are often essential for project success. The Grant Office facilitates:

  • Strategic collaborations between MiC institutions and external partners such as EU bodies, universities, museums, research centres, and local authorities;

  • Partner matchmaking and scouting for joint participation in EU calls;

  • Support in building consortia for transnational projects, with a focus on opportunities in the Mediterranean area.

Our work strengthens the international reach of the Ministry’s institutions, turning each European project into a concrete opportunity for growth, innovation, and cultural exchange.
